Meet Erika.

An attorney and personal finance expert, Erika strives to share the financial knowledge and experience that she wishes someone would have taught her.

We had a chance to talk to Erika and learn a bit more about her life as a creator.

Tell us a bit more about your channel.
I talk about personal finance, everything from investing to passive income to student loans.

Why did you become a creator?
After paying off $225,000 of student loans in under 2 years, I wanted an outlet to help others to save more money, make more money and take control of their finances.

Where do you get inspiration for your videos?
I try to make videos on my channel based on things I wish someone would’ve taught me about money 10 years ago.

Who are some of your favorite YouTube creators?
Kelly Stamps, Nate O’Brien

What one piece advice would you give to your fellow creators?
Love it like a hobby, treat it like a business.  In order to succeed on YouTube, I think you have to be truly passionate about why you started your channel.  This is important because YouTube isn’t about instant results: for most people, it’s going to take a lot of dedication to even hit your first 1,000 subscribers, so you need to be in it because you love it.  At the same time, you want to treat it like a business.  You have to consistently be willing to show up, week after week, and bring top-quality content to your subscribers.
